We made the tough decision to sell our beloved Now or Never. And before we could even change our minds, she was gone. Honestly, it was probably for the best – less time to agonize, more time to breathe. As we closed the chapter on our sweet vessel, we realized it was a true full-circle moment.

2025 – Last Day with Now or Never
On October 31, 2017, we first boarded Now or Never for our survey and sea trial – equal parts excited and terrified, dreaming about the Great Loop and all the adventures ahead. Fast forward eight years to October 31, 2025, and we found ourselves saying goodbye. Our piggy bank may have been a little heavier, but our hearts? Tied in nautical-grade knots.

2017 – Now or Never Sea Trial
It took five trips to Grand Rivers to empty out our “stuff” and get her all spiffed up for her new owners. Amazing how much one (…mostly Tasha) can tuck away into a boat without realizing it (she had an inkling).
We had no idea that Now or Never would become more than a boat – she became our home. For the first four years, from April to October, we spent almost every weekend on the Ohio River aboard her. And then for the next four years, she was our full-time home, and we’re still amazed by how effortlessly we slipped into tiny-home life on the water.” She was comfortable, steady, reliable… never once letting us down in eight years on the water.

Early days of Now or Never on the Ohio River
Now or Never carried us to places we never imagined we’d go: a nighttime crossing of the open Gulf of America, through the blue waters of the Keys, to the dock at George Washington’s Mount Vernon home, up the Jersey coast in the open Atlantic, through New York Harbor and by Lady Liberty herself, into the legendary lock system of the Trent-Severn Waterway, the pristine waters of Georgian Bay and the North Channel, and all the way to Lake Superior – into the very waters where the Edmund Fitzgerald met her fate. And then she carried us right back home again. She never wavered. She kept us safe. She handled everything like a champ.

Memories
We’d been debaating for a year about what life would look like after completing the Loop. For a long time, we weren’t even sure we’d ever earn that gold burgee. When we finally did, we knew we needed to make a clean break – and that’s exactly how it went. Our friend Jordan listed her the day after we crossed our wake, and five weeks later, poof – sold.

Lots of Great Memories
A few tears were shed. But oh, the memories. If you can’t tell, we loved our old girl, but it was time so say good bye and let her make someone else’s memories. We’re sharing some of our favorite photos from our years with Now or Never and the incredible places she carried us. Her new owners, John and Jennifer, will be starting their own Great Loop adventure soon, and it makes us happy to know she’ll be cruising again. She will keep her iconic name . . . so you might just see her again!

Incredible Memories
So… what’s next?
Honestly, we’re not exactly sure – but we are sure that we’re not ready to sit still. After four years of living a nomadic life, just a few weeks at home made one thing clear: the adventure bug still bites.

Winter in the Sunshine State
We’re heading to Florida for the winter (if you’re near Fort Myers, let us know!) and will start plotting out our next chapter. Final Loop stats coming soon – we just got a tiny bit sidetracked.
Cheers! David, Tasha,
& Loop pup – Remy – forever in our hearts!
